With the development of economy, the imbalance between supply and demand ofthe city’s traffic is getting worse. In this case, public transport becomes the core of theurban traffic because of its large capacity, high efficiency. Giving priority to thedevelopment of public transport is an important way to ease traffic problems, improvethe traffic environment, improve transport efficiency, and accelerate the developmentof urban transport. The paper takes research on methods of transit signal prioritycontrol at the isolated intersection based on analysis of delay. The main contents areas follows:In order to reduce delay of and passengers, let bus leave the intersection safetyand quickly, reduce congestion to improve bus transit service level, this paper studiedoptimization method of bus priority signal control for single intersection. This paperintroduced basic theory of bus priority signal control, in the case of single bus priorityapplication, this paper analyzed bus and passengers delay after using green lightextension and advance under the two kinds of commonly used priority strategy ofintersection, timing optimization function about the relation between delay reductionof bus phase and the delay increase of not bus phase was built based on this. Then thispaper studied signal timing optimization method of bus priority phase, and achievedbus priority service when the intersection is running at maximum efficiency.Finally,this papey made xi ’an small village cross as example to verify the buspriority signal control optimization method is feasible.
