Since the21stcentury, form of the tourism changed a lot. The traditional sightseeing has beenreplaced by vacation tour aiming for leisure, recreation, and entertainment. This kind of vacationtour has become a irresistible trend. Meanwhile, the mountain area, which comprises70%oftotal land area but is seldom well-developed, will turn into the biggest development area in thefuture. Mountain area is not only rich in natural resources, but also the best place for human toget close to nature. In this article, according to the special conditions of the mountain area, Ianalyze basic studies about vacation club, draw lessons from the layout form and constructionmethod of mountain architectures as well as traditional mountain dwellings, and try to discusshow to design mountain vacation clubs, in hope of providing some theoretical references for thegeographical layout and architectural design of vacation club located at mountain area.This article is divided into5chapters. Chapter1talks about the trend and reason of thedevelopment of vacation tour, analyzes the necessity of mountain development, and proposessome problem existing in the mountain vacation architectural design of China, and thesignificance of studying mountain vacation club. Chapter2studies design elements, whichincludes function requirements and design principle of the overall layout of vacation club, thuslaying out the theoretical framework for the following analysis. Chapter3mainly focuses on thespecial environment of mountain area, discusses the influence factors of mountain buildings andtheir impact on architectural layout, and also analyzes the layout and form of traditionalmountain dwellings to provide references for modern mountain architectural design. Chapter4 introduces, via example analysis, how to put theoretical research into practical mountainvacation club design. Chapter5summarizes the whole articles, and makes a conclusion.
