With today’s rapid economic development, the lives in the poorer mountainous area in our country life had got clear improvement, building energy saving technology has been extended in a certain range.But the mountain is still in the initial stage of the building energy saving design.This paper is taking aim at climate characteristics in the southwest of Handan mountain areas on big temperature difference between day and night, cool summer, drought with little rain, cold winter, and fast air flow speed. Combined with the functional requirements of large bay in school building. Deep structure and shear wall structure and frame-shear wall structure often used for school classroom, laboratory and canteens. Ventilation and lighting need for larger windows and doors. This paper puts forward energy saving strategy on the school site selection, architectural form and enclosing structure. Explorating reasonable energy saving measures which suits Handan mountainous area economyThis article through extensive reading of related theory and literature, solving the faced problems linked to school energy saving in mountainous region of western handan with reasonable and economic energy saving design concepts and methods. To find the way of school building energy saving design especially in mountainous region of western handan on the basic of meeting comfort teaching life environment, with less economic investment to get greater energy saving efficiency.The paper has six main sections:The first chapter discusses energy conservation in mountainous school building can raise concern with today’s rapid economic development and the worsen environment. a concern. In foreign countries, there are many examples of mountain building energy research.These examples provided valuable experience for the Handan mountain school building energy saving design.The second chapter introduces the characteristics of school buildings, and analyzes the characteristics of mountain climate in the western Handan, as well as the situation of the school building energy saving. Putting forward the requirements for energy saving from the inadequacy of mountainous school energy saving design. The third chapter discusses the energy saving measures from school planning, architecture layout form, energy saving measures about building shape and envelope energy saving strategy for mountainous school in western HandanThe fourth chapter analysis environmental and suitable decoration materials for building wall.The fifth chapter analysis the local conditions on energy saving for Western Handan school in mountain area to fine available natural renewable resources.In the sixth chapter, discussing the feasibility of energy saving measures based on projects in Western Handan mountainous school buildings.
