With the car ownership in China increasing rapidly, the oil consumption and exhaust pollution produced by car have increased the country’s energy and environmental pressures. The government has gradually proposed energy conservation policies. As a kind of "zero emissions", green, clean and energy-saving products, the electric vehicles have been considered as the future of the automobile industry. So it is essential to promote the industrialization and charging ancillary facilities of electric vehicles. This paper proposed a solution for AC charging of electric vehicles which is based on STM32processor STM32F103ZET6.The goal is to design a compact, easy installation, low cost AC charging equipment for electric vehicles for public parking, residential parking and other occasions. This equipment has good human-computer interaction, IC message authentication and consumer information processing function.Firstly, the functional requirements of AC charging piles are analyzed. Then, the structure of the system is determined. Later, the hardware design of control module and software design are separately introduced, including the circuit design of the microprocessor unit, the design of the main program of the control system, the software design of the human-computer interface, the interface and software design of the energy measurement unit, the design of the transaction settlement unit. The microprocessor unit is the core of the control system, for the data of the energy measurement unit and IC card are processed by it. The design and composition of the control system are elaborated, as well as its implementation functions.Additionally, the management system of the network operations and the electrical protection system are introduced in detail, including the establishment of GPRS communication network, the electrical protection of the charging circuit and the power supply module design of the control system. Finally, the AC charging system tests are conducted. And the results show that the charging pile is reliable and functional, and it can be put into practical use.
