Studying And Solutions For The Schedule Controlling Of GLP Project

The Logistics Estate, one branch of Industrial Estate, is developing rapidly along with the industrialization in our China. It is very important to control the schedule due to the unique features of Logistics Estate project. Therefore, it is necessary to study the issue of schedule controlling deeply and find out the solutions for the Logistics Estate projects, such as GLP.Firstly, the paper introduces some related project management theories and schedule controlling methods. Secondly, it presents the features of GLP and related Logistics Estate projects, the project management organization structure and procedure, summarizing the schedule data from GLP projects and analyzing the cause for the schedule issue. Thirdly, some optimizing countermeasures are proposed, such as cooperation to responding to administrative approval and monitor, active reactions to inadequate infrastructure facilities, subdividing customer demands to shorten the decision-making process, enhancing process controlling and optimizing the construction procedure, and a reasonable estimation of impacts on the schedule by some special factors. Fourthly, many auxiliary supporting measures are given to ensure coordination between progress and scope, cost and quality, to implement schedules performance incentive mechanisms, to provide technical support by the HQ engineering department, to foster a long-term cooperation between suppliers and contractors. Finally, it is suggested to establish systematic evaluation indicators and implementation measures, so as to examine the effects of the schedule management strategies and supporting measures, and to list the risking factors from overemphasizing a single target schedule management. All in all, GLP and similar companies of Logistics Estate, starting from the actual situations and basing on the characteristics of the industry and the project, should take appropriate and effective measures to ensure the schedule to achieve the investment value and seek greater development.In the paper, the author tries to achieve a combination of the theory and practice, and hope to find out the solutions for the schedule controlling issue of GLP projects and related Logistics Estate projects, and contribute to the improving of the project management.
