The Research Of Multimodal Transport System Based On Genetic Algorithm

With the rapid development of the economic globalizing, the business of container transportation develops very quickly. In order to meet the requirement of the fast development of the container transportation, both the efficiency and the service level of the container transportation must be improved. Under these conditions, the multimodal transportation chain is researched in this thesis from the system perspective aiming to optimize the transportation service. First a detailed analysis of the various factors that influence the multimodal transportation system is given, and then a transportation network graph is described with transport routes as arcs and the cities as nodes. After that a mathematic modal is established to compute the total cost of the multimodal transportation system with transporting time and competence of the route as the restrictions, and then a kind of modified genetic algorithm is applied to the model to search the best results of the model.Based on the detailed analysis of both flows and hubs of the multimodal transportation system, a hierarchical modal of the multimodal transportation system is proposed to optimize the system with fully consideration of the planning transit time, the cost of the transportation, the coordination among different transport companies and other factors. Then transportation planning models for containers transited by sea and by land are established separately. At last we use Genetic Algorithm solve the numerical examples to verify the models. According to our research, the cost of the transportation can be decreased, the efficiency of the transit can be raised and the economic benefit can be optimized, so the service of multimodal transportation chain can be greatly improved from the system perspective.
