With the rapid development of power semiconductor technology, variable frequency speed regulation technology and microcomputer control technology, electric propulsion has become the development direction of ship propulsion methods for the advantages of its energy efficiency, environmental protection, good operation and easy to control, domestic and international shipbuilding industry and scientific research units are strengthening research of marine electric propulsion system. Marine monitoring system is an important part of marine equipment management and ensuring safe operation of the ship, therefore, based on ship integrated electric propulsion system research platform construction project, this topic does research and development of small electric propulsion monitoring system of the ship, which is very important for in-depth study of electric propulsion system.This paper regards small ship electric propulsion system as the research object, uses relevant data acquisition network technology and computer control technology, does research and development of monitoring and control system, perfects ship integrated electric propulsion system research platform. This paper’s main works are as follows:1. Small composition of ship electric propulsion system are introduced, and the monitoring system’s function and performance requirements are analyzed.2. In view of the existing electric propulsion experiment system, a system structure of integrated electric propulsion research platform monitoring and control are designed, control schemes are proposed, and furthermore, the working mechanisms of the key technologies are analyzed and adopted.3. According to the design scheme, hardware type selections of system consisting and system integration are completed. The system control process of different parts is analyzed, furthermore, data acquisition programming is completed, and the implement method of communication is focused research.4. Monitoring software architecture and software interface are designed, monitoring and control software based on touch screen is developed, which realized monitoring software and data communication. 5. System alignment and data analysis. Test the experimental data of ship propulsion system under different work conditions and analysis data statistics.Experimental tests show that the monitoring system of the project works well, the devices have realized the data real-time transmission successfully, monitoring software has realized the display of propulsion system parameters, and data can be stored in the database.
