| ABSTRACT:This article is accomplished in a certain background. For one hand, express industry in China is booming, and this industry needs more effective transportation resource. On the other hand, high-speed railway network has been expanding in our country. high-speed railway possesses line resources, yard space resources and other resources, while facing enormous financial pressures and in need of increased resource utilization. In June2013, China Railway Corporation started the reform of transportation organization, Express transported by high-speed trains was added to the rail freight business, which meant that high-speed trains not only served passengers, but also started to delivery express.In the theoretical part of the study, I used the PRN (products-resources-network economic) analysis method of transport economics to research the foundation of integration between high-speed railway and express. Firstly, using high-speed rail to delivery express can achieve "integral and fast" transportation; Secondly, the coverage of high-speed railway network and run-time of high-speed train can meet the requirement of the express industry;Thirdly, using high-speed rail transports express can increase economies of scale and economies of scope for their operations. I also use the industry convergence theory to analyze the motivation, manner and procedure of high-speed railway and express industry integration.In the part of empirical research, I look the high-speed railway express in our country as a research objectives, analyze the integration of high-speed railway and express industry. Meanwhile, I analyze the case of high-speed rail express transportation between Wuhan and Guangzhou,conduct the cost-benefit analysis, and point out problems.Through research, I argues that China has a good basis for integration between high-speed railway and express industry, the integration is on initial stage and need create favorable conditions for further development. |
