Planning And Study Of Road Network In The Small And Medium-sized Cities Based On Hilly Topography

With the rapid progress of urbanization and motorization, many small andmedium-sized cities in hilly area are at the same time pursuing such a pair ofcontradictory goals. On the one hand, they seek from the ever-expanding roadnetwork for a variety of interests, including great economic development, more jobsand high-quality houses built with cheap land; on the other hand, people becomeincreasingly focused on the serious threat posed to the hills and the naturalenvironment, including the destruction to the water network, ecosystem and thecharacteristic hilly landscape and so on.In view of this, on the basis of the full study on the hilly terrain and the roadnetwork of small and medium-sized cities, the theory of road landscape ecology hasbeen introduced; with the integration and symbiosis of the road network and the hillyterrain as the goal, the road network planning framework suitable for the hilly terrainhas been established. Meanwhile, a comprehensive assessment roadmap has beenprovided for realizing this goal. This paper is mainly divided into three parts:Part One (Chapter1and Chapter2): It has mainly elaborated the researchbackground of this paper, the raise of the problem and its research significance, andrelated research overview both at home and abroad; analyzed the hilly terrain and theroad network of small and medium-sized cities and outlined the most common twoforms (namely hill-shape texture and hilly water network) of the hilly terrain aswell; and extracted the two most basic structures (namely tree-shaped andgrid-shaped) of the road network of small and medium-sized cities.Part Two (Chapter3): As the core part of this paper, it introduces the roadlandscape ecology to guide the combination of the road network of small andmedium-sized cities and the hilly terrain and establish the corresponding planningmethod system. Specific methods are as follows: from the micro point of view, theroad network planning strategy has been proposed by combination of hill-shapetexture; from the middle point of view, after the tree-shaped road network and thegrid-shaped road network have been respectively combined with the hilly waternetwork for application and analysis, a conclusion that the former is better than thelatter is reached; from the macro point of view, the leading principle suitable for roadnetwork planning of the hilly terrain and two kinds of comparatively ideal road network construction modes have been proposed.Part Three(Chapter4): Namely the evaluation index system has been establishedfor the road network of small and medium-sized cities in hilly area, and its practicalapplication has been discussed by taking Hunan Zhongfang County Industrial Park asan example.The end of this paper gives pectination and summary to the whole paper andresearch outlook.
