In recent years, with the development of society and economy, small and medium-sized cities have begun to take shape and are showing the trend of rapid development. Urban development in our country presents the trend of regional integration, and with the speeding up of urbanization process, the small and medium-sized cities in the face of development opportunities at the same time, also meet internal and external traffic problems.According to the new regulations, this paper described the scope of medium and small cities and determined the scope of the study; Through the fast-channel project actual situation inductive analysis, the definition of fast-channel has been made. Then, this paper analysis of small and medium-sized cities and fast-channel interaction relations, which include analyzing the demand of the fast-channel, small and medium-sized cities and medium-sized cities to build urban channels of feasibility analysis, etc. After existing road network has been defined, this paper focuses on the relationship between cohesion freeway, ordinary trunk roads and small cities, and then analyzes the impact of existing trunk road to the small city fast-channel layout.Through the road network and urban expressway planning method to analyze the advantages and disadvantages, combining the characteristics of small cities fast channel layout, the paper selection analysis method of point and line and surface for fast-channel layout, and according to the characteristics of small cities, discussed point and line and surface three levels of the small city in turn, and analysis the methods and principles to determine the point layer, line layer to determine the line position and line position type, several elements of the surface layer, etc., proposed the layout ideas and processes of small city fast-channel network which is based on analysis method of point and line and surface. In combination with small and medium-sized city fast-channel layout, this paper introduces indirect nodes, and optimizes the accessibility calculation method. Finally in Jianyang as an example, combining theory with practice to layout fast-channel Jianyang network.
