As one of the most efficient methods of energy transmission, chains have unique functions for long-distance motion and material handling, which can be widely used in equipments and lines of metallurgy and machinery so on. In recent years after new theories, structures and technics were used in manufacturing industry of transport, the performance and technology of chains had been improved significantly. However the vibration, noise, wear and other issues of long-distance transmission systems have been study difficulty and hot spot with improvement of computers.Chain load is the basis of subsequent analysis as incentive of kinetic analysis. Based on mechanical and meshing model, with point-by-point method, the calculation of tension had drawn the relationship of pitches between pitch radius and driving force, by which pitch elongation imputed to wear had come to a larger vibration impact with effects of static load and generation of additional dynamic load, especially for the long-distance transmission roller chains with more chain links. On vibration of long-distance concentrated chains, a multivariant spring-dampers system was built, considering rolling and sliding. With rational string force, velocity and acceleration were got from differential equations of rollers using Newtonian mechanics. The smaller maximum of tension is and the larger damping is, the more smoothly chains run. Meanwhile an alternative explanation of stick-slip was carried from formula between force frequency and natural frequency in chain systems.Taking wear of long-distance roller chains as an object, with Kelvin-Voigt model, a dynamic model of2-DOF system in wear was established, for horizontal velocity uniformity between worn pins and sleeves. The reasonable tension of slight-damping and non-damping vibration was got by the dynamic responses of dimensionless differential equations from contact state and contactless state. This text had explored the influence on vibration, wear and tension, obtaining logical tension in long-distance chains. With RecurDyn, the correctness of mesh and fluctuation in velocity and acceleration were concluded, as well as the rationality of wear model. While pre-load adjustment is an effective mean of weakening vibration, providing theoretical basis on silent running of long-distance roller chains.
