With the development of agricultural machinery, the demand of agricultural machinery for assembling is increasing. But the traditional assembly process can’t meet the requirements of product assembly. How to improve the efficiency of the assembly of agricultural machinery has become an urgent problem should to be solved. Virtual assembly technology as a new type of digital research, it can improve the quality of the product, reduce the risk and cost of the product, and shorten the product development time. Thus virtual assembly technology plays a very important role in agricultural machinery assembly.Combine the sub-topic program "Research the virtual assembly technology of Agricultural Machinery" of "Twelve Five" national science and technology programs in rural areas. Study the virtual assembly technology of gearbox based on DELMIA.First, do some research and analysis of technology which is related to virtual assembly. It includes virtual reality, virtual assembly and path planning techniques.Second, based on researching the technology of virtual assembly path planning, the improved genetic algorithm is proposed. First of all it proves a new method to define the initial population, which can prove all chromosomes are reasonable. In this situation the efficiency of the algorithm is improved. Then, the crossover operator and mutation operators are improved, which can enhance the possible to convergence to the global optimum. Finally, using the experiment to show that the improved genetic algorithm is better than traditional genetic algorithm in assembly path planning, and meanwhile optimize the human walking path of DELMIA Ergonomics by improved genetic algorithm.Finally, achieve the sequence planning of the gearbox on DELMIA DPM; realize the optimization of assembly path by collision detection and path inspection; comply the human assembly simulation based on DELMIA Human Task module and analysis the force of man posture.
