The solenoid valve is one of the key actuators in the electronically controlled injection system based on timing control method. In this kind of system, one or two solenoid valves are fixed in the high-pressure pipe to control the action of the injection pump and the injection nozzle. In such situation, the quantity of injection, the timing of injection and the rate of injection can be flexibly and controlled, which will contribute greatly to the performance of both power and fuel economy. Thus the timing control method has become the tendency of the electrically controlled diesel engine.Recently, a new kind, two-position and three-way solenoid valve with great rate of flow and high speed as well as its test bed has been developed by school of energy and power engineering, Wuhan University of Technology. Results have shown that it can control the injection of the diesel engine preferably. The research work in this paper has been done concerning on the solenoid valve and its test bed, which is listed as following.First of all, some improvements have been carried out on the test equipment in order to void the singularities when the magnetic force is tested. An opposite force is located in the piston to balance the one caused by pressing the spring beforehand. The precision of measurement has been enhanced.In addition, in the previous design, the leak of fuel is serious during the valve's operation, which is impermissible for the credibility of sealing. In the newly design, by using ANSYS, the reason that causes the leak has been analyzed in detail. It is found out where the key part is and some suggestions are put forward to improve the structure of the valve.Moreover, it is necessary to make a model that can simulate the operation of the valve because occasionally some factors are inaccessible. In this paper, the fundamentals of the valve been comprehended deeply, the model of the valve is brought forward, such factors as the spring, the material of the magnet core, etc are analyzed in detail using Matlab Simulink.Meanwhile, in the experimental work, the scope of the equation that reveals the relation between the magnet force and the working distance is defined definitely. Different materials of the magnet core are compared in terms of their influence to the valve. However, it is only initiatory, more work needs to be done in the future.Finally, some deficiencies are suggested according to the problem in the research work.
