In today’s rapid social and economic development background, development of automobile andproduction also accelerated. However, because of the pollution substances produced by the carcaused the energy crisis, environmental pollution, global temperatures rise, the Protect environmentand increasing pressure on the energy crisis. So, for the green energy saving and reduction ofpollutant emissions is the main direction of the future in automotive technology promotion, andbattery management system as a core part of the electric vehicle, has become a research focus onthe field of electric vehicles development. Now the research and development of electric vehicleshas put forward higher requirements, but to solve the main problems of the electric car is the batteryproblem, so the protection and performance of the battery is the key aspect of the ascension.This paper analyses the present research situation of domestic and external battery management,then according to the actual situation, design a battery charge and discharge monitoring and controlsystem. This paper is based on the12V/20AH lead-acid battery as the research object, the principleand characteristics of lead-acid battery are obtained, some factors affecting the performance oflead-acid batteries. Based on the performance and service life of lead-acid battery as the goal,through the method of real-time monitoring of the battery to control the charge and discharge of thebattery, the battery in the best working condition, which is beneficial to prolong the battery life.Monitoring the battery mainly comprises a voltage, current and the battery capacity, because of theover/under voltage or over/under current charge and discharge performance of battery stateinfluence greatly. The remaining battery capacity in this setting is to start charging less than45%,higher than70%is stop charging, which is set according to the parameters of the battery modelresearch. On the other hand, set up a separate equalization module, this module is mainly to whenthe battery monomer battery power is not consistent, balanced each monomer battery power, butalso can make the battery charging and discharging termination voltage can be achieved when thecharging and discharging.Charge and discharge the battery with different requirements of different. In this regard, alongwith the development of battery technology, it also improves the design practice, the topic, althoughthe battery only in the general requirements for electric vehicles are also very good application, butoverall, this system uses modular design, the main control unit and each module can be in the actualwork application in the management of charging and discharging the battery is very good, and afterrepeated charge discharge experiment of the battery, can make the indicators to parameters of thebattery set their own. But the design of each circuit is not good innovation, hope to be able to better in the circuit design in the future to design efficient circuits to improve research.
