With the development of industrialization, the demand for road transport of dangerous materials is increasing, and the amount of dangerous materials road transport continues to rise.Because of the characteristics of being flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, radioactive etc., once an accident takes place, it could lead to extremely serious consequences and a significant loss of life and property. The ecological environment and the facilities would be seriously damaged and contaminated. While there are many influence factors, which could lead to accidents of road transport for dangerous materials, about90%of them happen due to the transport enterprises for their personnel, vehicle technology, and loading etc. Through the perspective of transport enterprises, this thesis studies the safety level for road transport of hazardous materials.This thesis first systematically analyzes the domestic and international research status of the safety level for road transport of dangerous materials. The nature of dangerous materials, influence factors of dangerous materials for road transport are analyzed and summarized in this thesis. With the actual situation of collected data and the characteristics of the transport enterprises for dangerous materials, the security level sub-index system of all aspects is simplified and optimized. A security level index system of road transport for dangerous goods was also established, and the weight of each index is determined.Secondly, the research methods of the safety level for road transport of dangerous materials are discussed and summarized. Through the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of TOPSIS method and Levels-gray relation entropy method, an improved gray correlation analysis TOPSIS model is established for the study of the safety level of road transport for dangerous goods with references to characteristics of road transport for dangerous materials,Finally, five transport enterprises for dangerous materials are empirically studied. And the results show that the safety level of road transport for dangerous materials can be studied more accurately and effectively based on gray correlation analysis TOPSIS model.This thesis provides theoretical and technological support for the regulatory authorities as well as transport enterprises for transport of dangerous materials. It has at the same time some theoretical guidance to the safety studies of railways, waterways and air transport for dangerous materials.
