With the development of ship’s large and intelligence, the electrical equipment on board is increasing, and degree of automation for marine power station becomes higher and higher. Marine power station automation is one of the parts the engine room automation, and at the same time marks the milestone of the ship modernization. The application of the marine power station automation can ensure reliability, continuity and the quality of the power supply to ship. The quality of marine power station will directly influence the security and economy of sailing ship.In this study, SIEMENS S7-1200PLC and WEINVIE MT-8100i touch screen is utilized as core device and PC for the marine power station automation and generator protection control system. The control system collects the power parameters and operating data of the marine power station by the signal acquisition unit. Then it can realize the control of automation and generator protection based on the operation of the marine power station.After the verification of experiment and debugging, the control system in this thesis achieves the following function:1) The function of automatic start and stop of the generator;2) the function of automatic quasi-synchronous parallelization;3) the function of automatic frequency and load control;4) The function of integrated protection of overload,short circuit, undervoltage and reverse power;5) Upper touch screen display the status, parameters and alarm information of marine power station, and remote control the running of all of the ship power system.The marine power station automation and generator protection controller is debugged based on the platform of the marine high voltage power station distributor in the laboratory of Dalian Maritime University. The control system can accomplish all the scheduled tasks and run stably and reliably in the laboratory environment.
