Substation automation system is a substation automatic operation control system which composed of various intelligent electronic device and monitoring host in the station control layer. Substation automation system is consist of protection, control, power quality management and other subsystems. The domestic actual substation is developing from the transitional digital substation to practical digital substation,and developing until to the ideal type of smart substation. The application and popularization of IEC61850standard in Smart Substation provided a good foundation to realize IED interoperability in substation, solves the problem of heterogeneous and the information isolated island in substation automation system.The application of IEC61850standard provided two important unity for information system in smart substation:First, unified information model and information data, mainly refers to using object oriented modeling technology to design the hierarchical information model of IED in substation; Second, unified communications, mainly refers to using the abstract communication service interface and special communication service mapping to realize the message transmission in communication network of smartt substation,and ultimately realize the interoperability of IED. This paper studied IEDs’ modeling process in substation based on IEC61850standard, configurated network based on analyzed the network message transmission type, conducted simulation analysis of substation communication network using OPNET Modeler software.The thesis is organized as follows:The first chapter introduced the research background, the main research work in this paper as well as the domestic and foreign research; The second chapter introduced the IEC61850standard, studied object oriented modeling technology, abstract communication service interface, special communication service mapping and the substation configuration language; The third chapter studied modeling methods to desigh IED model in smart substation based on IEC61850standard, researched on the principles and specific methods of modeling server, logical device, logical node, data and data attributes under IED hierarchical information model, and finally used the eaample of modeling the220kV line protection device to illustrate the the modeling process and the detailed rules of desiging IED model; The fourth chapter studied the mapping relationship and communication process of MMS, GOOSE, SV message in substation communication network, configurated network based on analyzing the message type in communication network, which including the VLAN configuration and priority allocation of communication network; The fifth chapter conducted simulation analysis of the smart substation by using the OPNET Modeler software,simulated the message transmission mechanism in communication network, the simulation analysis focused on the network topology design, the network traffic and network delay in the process layer of smart substation.The research of this paper is funded by The National Natural Sience Foundation(51377026).
