Research On Permanent Magent Actuator Of Pulsecloser

Pulse closing technology of pulsecloser mostly rely on performance of operatingmechanism, so developmenting an actuator what having an excellent performance iscritical. In recent years, an Permanent Magnet Actuator(PMA), what it haveelectomagnetic opration, permanent maintenance and electronic control, was widespreadconcern. The new operating princple is adopted by PMA, in which, the electomagnetismactuator and Permanent Magnet are rationally combined. The mechanical tripping andlocking devices of conventional actuator have been eliminated, the main moving partremains one. Structure and the parts have been largly simplified, the reliability ofmechanical system has been greatly increased. So medium voltage vacuum switch canmove a major step forward maintenance-free direction.In the paper, it describes a way to improve the reliability of the vacuum switch, andbriefly describes the current status of the development and application of PMA. Itintroduces the structure and shortcoming of dual-coil bi-stable PMA and single-coilmonostable PMA. Thus, the paper presents the stucture and working principle ofsingle-coil bi-stable PMA, and detailed introduced design process of PMA. On the basis ofthe theory, the model of PMA is constructed and Ansoft Maxwell is used to simulate theelectromagnetic analysis. Based on the results of simulation, single-coil bi-stable PMA ismade. The experiment of PMA are tested and verified by comparison with simulation.The experimental results show that the performance index of the single-coilbi-stable PMA are achieved as pusle closing require. The performance of the device isresearched and manufactured successfully and put into use effectively in Sandc electric(China) Company LTD.
