With the gradual improvement of the road transport network, the major work of road transport undertakings transferred from the planning and construction to the management and maintenance, now road maintenance has drawn increasing attention. Maintenance of road pavement will inevitably produce a lot of waste material, If these large amounts of waste asphalt mixture can be used by regeneration, there will be a great many of environmental and economic benefits.. the thermal regeneration is one of the waste asphalt pavement recycling technologies which has been successfully applied in many projects.Hveem, Marshall and Superpave method are commonly used design method of asphalt mixture until now, as different design methods of its forming equipment is not the same, the compaction principle of asphalt mixture and the compaction effect is bound to be have the difference, which will affect the performance of asphalt mixture. This article integrated two aspects, thermal regeneration and asphalt molding methods,to study molding methods affect the performance of recycled asphalt mixture. First of all, analyzes the mechanism of asphalt aging and regeneration and in use of regenerant to recover the performance of the asphalt in the RAP. then the Marshall and Superpave design method are used for hot recycled asphalt mixture design. Finally using different methods to mold recycled asphalt mixture, analyzed the road performance of recycled asphalt mixture that based on Marshall, SGC and SBC molding method and obtained the related conclusion.
