With the shortage of water becoming extremely serious, related national and local governmentdepartments have gradually focused on the efforts on saving water. The comsuption of water inagriculture accounts for70%of total water consumption in our country, among which90%isirrigation. Therefore, it is inevitable to saving water in agriculture.The development of agriculture in Ningbo is very rapid. However, its safety production hasbeen threatened by the uneven distribution of water-resource, the increasing of population, thedecreasing of cultivated soil and kinds of natural disasters, such as drought, flood etc. Thus, theagricultural water engineering project faces new challenge and issues. To promote the agriculturalwater-saving is not only the requirement of developing modern agriculture, but also the effectivesolution of production. It is significant to achieve the sustainable development of water using,while promotes yield as well.Based on the current situation of natural resource, water and soil resource, agriculture andwater resource in Ningbo, the paper analysis the necessity and the feasibility of water-savingtechnique. Then, it traces out the factors that influence the choosing of agricultural water-savingmodel, according to the main measures which are taken to save water. As for differentcircumstance suits different water-saving model, it is necessary to analysis the most suitablewater-saving model for different districts in Ningbo.The determinants of the analysis are geography, climate, the shortage of water and theagricultural consumption of water. With the empirical and overlaping method, accompanied withthe integration of scattered towns, the paper determines the agricultural water-saving model inNingbo. It defines the northeast plain as deficiency water sightseeing leisure agriculturalmicro-irrigation district, and north plain as deficiency water vegetable cotton oil cropirrigation-micro-irrigation district, and central plain as river micro-deficiency water rice vegetabletube filling-micro-irrigation district, and southwest department mountain hills forest special flowerirrigation-anti-seepage district, and southern Harbour plain hills micro-deficiency water farming,and fruit integrated agricultural irrigation district. What’s more, respectively, it puts forward somemeasures to save water for every district.. According to the requirement of modern agriculture development in Ningbo, thecharacteristics of water resources and districts, the experience of irrigation development in “the11thFive” and “the12thFive”, this thesis makes some initial study on the model of agriculturewater-saving. The models conclude the precise facilities agricultural micro-filling water savingmode, and dew Tin vegetable rice rotation area pipeline irrigation-distribution irrigation mode, andfruit tea shoots features agricultural irrigation water saving mode, and fruit trees medicine flower,remarkable agricultural micro-filling water saving mode and the library Tong irrigation districtanti-permeability and field engineering supporting water saving mode. Then, it sums up thefeatures of every modes, their appling conditions, and benefits and limitations. Besides theproposed mode, it is also advisable to use the other suitable water-saving model for each district.Finally, the paper adds up five aspects to expand the application of agricultural water-savingtechnology, which are consistent with the development goal of modern agriculture in Ningbo. First,increase the government investment; then, intensify the guidance and demonstration; Third, expandthe publicity and intensify the technical training; Forth, accelerate the automatic development ofagricultural water-saving technology. And last but not the least important, pay more attention onthe training of agricultural water-saving talents.
