Chinese chive belongs to genus allium and family lily and had a long history of cultivation. There has been a lot of research on cultivation technique, the regularity of modality morphological development and physiological characteristics in Chinese chive. However, there is few report on effects of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on yield and quality in Chinese chive. The phenomenon of applying fertilizer blindly exists on production, which influence yield and quality very much, and decrease the benefit of Chinese chive production. For these reasons, this paper studied the effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on growth and development, production and quality in the seedling and plant of Chinese chives. The main results were as follows:1N, P, K affected Chinese chives seedling’s growth and biomass. The plant height, stem diameter and root number of seedling with fertilization treatment were significantly higher than that of no fertilizer treatment. However, different fertilizer treatments have different effects. The treatment with mixed nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium has the best effect and is better than the treatment with single fertilizer. Chinese chive root and stem plays an important role in storing nutrient and steadied overground part yield. During the whole seedling stage, biomass of root and stem and biomass of root were higher than these with treatment of single phosphous and single nitrogen.2If usage of N, P and K is reasonable, the seedling quality was significantly improved. In the experiment, the fertilizer project with integrated quality value of seedlings over90was worked out. It is that x1was-0.086~-0.355,x2was-0.094~0.500and x3was0.015~0.460. It is also that N was13.71~20.33kg/667m2, P2O5was10.94~15.00kg/667m2, K2O was15.32~21.90kg/667m23N, P and K had significant effect of Chinese chive yield. Reasonable proportion of N, P and K increased the yield of Chinese chive. The nitrogen effect on yield was higher than potassium and phosphorus. The mutual effect of N and K was remarkable. In this experiment, when the usage of N per mu was22.74~33.22kg, P was16.22~22.55kg and K was25.50~39.68kg, the Chinese chive yield can exceed2500kg/667m2.4N, P and K had significant effect of quality in Chinese chive. If the proportion of N, P and K is reasonable, the content of chlorophyll, vitamine C, soluble sugar, soluble protein and fibre were increased. The potassium effect on yield was higher than potassium and nitrogen. The reasonable usage of N, P and K to improve quality of Chinese chive was studied. When the usage of N per mu was15.84~27.36kg, P was15.56~27.06kg and K was36.98~50.93kg kg, high quality chive was attained.
