China is a country with vast territory and profound cultural heritage, which not only hasabundant resources of Chinese herbal medicine, but also has a long history of medication. Chinese medicineculture originates from the folk. However, many folk medicinal herb resources have not been found, utilizedor developed, being only popular in the folk. Fujian’s Shaxian is a large county with abundant resources andfolk medication, and there are still many medicinal herb resources and folk application to be investigated,excavated, studied and developed. This paper takes various villages and towns in Fujian’s Shaxian Countyas the survey location, visits the local senior medicinal herb growers, local doctors and old county doctorsthrough making field trips, records the medicinal herbs’ traditional prevention and cure of diseases, and alsoshows the typical successful cases of folk medicinal herb used to cure the diseases and save the patients inFujian’s Shaxian County. As a result, this paper collects155kinds of medicinal herbs,376prescriptions and69application cases, sorts, analyzes and summarizes dozens of medicinal herbs without any written recordby making comparative study, basically finds out the distribution and species of local medicinal herbs, putsforward the suggestion of protecting and developing the medicinal herbs in Shaxian County, inheriting anddeveloping the traditional medicine culture in the folk. By studying and summarizing Shaxian County’smedicinal herb resources and folk medication, this paper further enriches the library of traditional Chinesemedicine culture, and brings practical significance to promoting the development of traditional Chinesemedicine culture.
