Value engineering is a kind of management thinking and management techniques bycollaborating with related fields; it studies on the functions and costs to get system analysis,continuous innovation, which aim at improving the value of the object. The core object ofvalue engineering study is functional analysis; the aim of it is increasing the value of the study,and striving to achieve the lowest life cycle cost of the product or the required job functionswhich is necessary to the product. Combine agricultural product is a more complex structurethan other agricultural products; it is one of the products which have high technology, andstrict manufacturing process. It is of typical significance to analysis the research object value.In this paper, we take production4LZ-2.0-type full-feeding combine harvester producedby M Institute as the specific object of study, and do research from two targets-process andeconomy to make object value analysis. Firstly, we make some brief introductions of China’sharvester industry status quo and problems, and clarify the significance of the research.Secondly, by collecting and anal sizing data, and anal sizing product, we lay the foundationfor the analysis of the product value. In addition, according to the principle of functionalanalysis we get capabilities of the target object definitions and functional finishing, and thetarget functional system diagram; by using the method-"functional systems score”, we getfunctional important coefficients, and determine the function which need to improve. Bytaking the cost, the operating efficiency, adaptation and Manipulation of the product intoaccount, we get three different proposed improvement methods. Then by comparing the wholefunction with the cost, we get an optimal new product design. In this paper, we contrast4LZ-2.8with the original product4LZ-2.0products in the main configuration andperformance parameters. In terms of the economic evaluation, we not only compare with theoriginal product, but also produced in Japan Kubota PRO588I type from both producers andusers to demonstrate the best overall efficiency of new products.The main work and innovation is applying the value engineering theory to the designphase of typical agricultural products. It is of significance for the product in decreasing costs,and improving product value; In terms of economic evaluation, we not only take theproducers and users into consideration, but also similar products,to make analysis morepersuasive.
