This thesis has two parts, Chemical Constituents Isolation and Identification ofSchefflera arboricola Hayata and Anti-inflammatory Analgesic Activities of Researchof different extraction sites of Ocimum basilicum L.In the first part of this thesis, Hayata (Schefflera arboricola Hayata) was derivedfrom Araliaceae Schefflera genus Hayata, roots or stems, leaves medicine. It wasbitter, sweet, warm. It has been used clinically for bruises, rheumatism, gastric andduodenal ulcers. In civil, it has been pounded for outsourcing treatment of fracturesswelling and pain and trauma and bleeding. At present Hayata sheets and Hayatatincture have been used in clinical, but it remains unclear for their clinical role onmaterial basis, and there is even no any standard for quality evaluation. Therefore, analysis method of natural medicine was conducted to systematicaly analyse Hayatachemical composition in this study, providing some information about the Hayata forclinical applications.Alcohol extract of Schefflera arboricol Hayata was isolated and purified by silicagel column chromatography. Five compounds were obtained from Scheffleraarboricola Hayata, and three of them were identified as2α,3-dihydroxyl hydroxylbetulinic acid methylester, betulinic acid, and oleanolic acid. It was first time reportedthat2α,3-dihydroxyl hydroxyl betulinic acid methylester was extracted fromschefflera. In the second part of this thesis, Basil (Ocimun basilicum L.) is a labiatae basilvanilla plant. The herbaceous plant, as a plant medicine, is an kind of edible aromaticplant for well-known drug. It is characteristic of warm warm and pungency. Itpossesses functions of expelling wind, relieving the exterior, dampness moderation, activating blood circulation, detoxification swelling, for the treatment of exogenousheadache, food flatulence stagnation, epigastric pain, diarrhea, irregular menstruation, bruises, snake insect bites, skin eczema embolism. Modern pharmaceutical study alsorevealed its functions in antibiosis, anti-oxidation, antitumor, anti-peptic ulcers,anti-thrombus, etc. However, There is little information about the material basis of anti-inflammation and acesodyne, the mechanism of the anti-inflammatory analgesicactivity. In this study, the activity of different solvent extraction parts was determined, and effects of active ingredients of anti-inflammatory analgesic were investigated. The basil was soaked in70%ethanol. The solvent was distilling off, and the crudeextract was obtained, and then dissolved in water. The aqueous solution was extractedby petroleum ether, diethyl ether, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, n-butanol,respectively. The extracted was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the fivefractions of extractum. The dry extractum was screened by writhing test in mice. Theresult of this study indicated that material extracted by n-butanol has the highestactivity in anti-inflammation and followed by acesodyne and methylene chloride. Andthe anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of basil was determined by writhing test, hot plate test, xylene-induced ear swelling test and carrageenan-induced paw swellingtest, etc. The results showed: the effect of high dose of n-butanol group than the lowdose and middle dose of good.
