Objective:Young patients with Sjogren’s syndrome investigate the clinicalcharacteristics of the disease.Method:For November2011to April2013in our hospital discharged patientswith Sjogren’s syndrome were retrospectively analyzed, recorded patient age, sex, clinical manifestations, laboratory test results, etc., to the limit of40years old, weredivided into young and middle elderly group. The two groups were analyzed andcompared using SPSS15.0statistical processing.Results:1) General: Sjogren’s syndrome patients with a total of163cases,3cases of male patients, female patients160cases, male to female ratio was1:53.3, aged18-85years, mean age was52.14±13.03years; younger group32cases, the total number of19.63%, male to female ratio was1:31, mean age32±6.13years, mean disease duration was2.55±3.01years; middle-aged group of131cases, the total number of80.37%, male to female ratio of1:65.5, the averageage was57.06±8.86years, mean disease duration was6.21±8.04years.2)systemic manifestations and exocrine glands: the young group of middle-agedgroup vs fever (12.5%vs1.5%), dry mouth (58.2%vs96.9%), dry eye (50%vs74%),Raynaud syndrome (28.1%vs12.2%) difference was statistically significant (P <0.05);fatigue (18.75%vs4.59%), rash (15.63%vs11.45%), joint pain (56.2%vs56.2%),recurrent oral ulcers (15.6%vs10.7%), rampant caries (15.3%vs3.1%), beef tongue(6.1%vs3.1%), parotid gland enlargement (0%vs3.1%), the difference was notstatistically significant (P>0.05).3)system damage: the young group vs the blood system damage in the elderly group (90.6%vs46.6%) difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); lungdamage (28.1%vs41.2%), liver damage (15.6%vs270.5%), kidney damage (12. 5%of17.6%), Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (15.6%vs7.6%) lymph nodes (15.6%vs6.1%) with no significant difference (P>0.05).4) inflammation and immunological parameters: CRP, complement C4, IgA, IgG, IgM, SSA difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); erythrocyte sedimentation rate, complement C3, IgE, antinuclear antibodies, rheumatoid factor, SSB with no significant difference (P>0.05)..Conclusions:1. Sjogren’s syndrome is not uncommon in young people, about20%.2. younger than in older patients with Sjogren’s syndrome patients prone tofever, Raynaud syndrome, blood system damage, dry mouth, dry eyes rare; I fatigue, rampant caries, beef tongue, parotid gland enlargement, hypokalemia, lymphadenopathy, recurrent oral ulcers, skin rashes, joint pain, kidney damage, liver damage, lung damage was no significant difference between the two.3. Young Sjogren’s syndrome decreased complement C4, CRP, IgA, IgG, IgM increased significantly compared to middle-aged patients; SSA higher positiverate. ESR, IgE increased, complement C3, antinuclear antibodies, rheumatoid factor, SSB was no significant difference between the two.
