Along with our country entering an aging society, the psychological problems of theaged becomes more and more important for countries. Their life experience is a preciousspiritual wealth for a country’s development,and is the young generation intangiblebacked by striving to make progress. If the older people physically and mentally isunhealthy. From near eyes, it not only relates to whether the younger generation can focuson their work and serve for the people. In the long run, it is more related to nationallong-term stability and sustainable development. Therefore, study the mental health statusof old people is our responsibility and obligation for the younger generation.This experiment from a psychological perspective, based on previous research andthe accumulation of data combining the symptom self-evaluation scale for Inner Mongoliaautonomous region198retire the mental health of cadre retires widows were measured.The study found:1. Since the army retire cadres widow symptoms rating scale total score and eachfactor (except terror) scored higher than national norm, explain that the elderlywidow`mental health is lower that domestic adult average. 2. After analyzing the self-assessment lists of symptom, we can conclude about60%of the widow is no larger psychological problems. The remaining less than40%of thewidow exist different levels of mental health problems, expressing in somatization,interpersonal relationship, depression, anxiety, paranoid factors etc.3. After correlation analysis of Eysenck personality questionnaire and the symptomself-evaluation scale, we may safely draw the N, P, L dimension standard score waspositively correlated with SCL-90every factor, reflecting the elderly widow emotionalstability, stubborn personality types and characteristics of the total mental health level islower than the national norm. E dimension norm is the negative correlation with everyfactor of SCL-90, show that E is low and the characteristics of the mental health leve lisworse, especially in the depression, anxiety, paranoia and other factors.4. The results showed that different degree and different income levels in the totalscore of mental health is no significant difference between each factor score(P>0.05).Different interests,different ages, different health conditions, length of time of death,different support way and life satisfaction in personality types and the mental health scoresand each factor score exist significant differences (P <0.05).
