On The Translation Of Global Standard For Packaging And Packaging Materials (Issue4)

After the introduction of the background and contents of Global Standard forPackaging&Packaging Materials (Issue4), the necessity for its translation was statedin this paper. And three kinds of problems as well as their corresponding solutions basedon the translation process were analyzed in the form of examples. These problemsinclude: problems with the translation of passive sentences, supplementary information,as well as conversion of word classes. At the theory analysis part, the author discussedthe application of literal translation and free translation in the translation of standards.At the end of this paper, two aspects related to this kind of translation which should bepaid attention to were summarized, namely the accuracy in wording and the completemeaning of sentences.
