A Study On Dongba Culture Research Of Li Lin-ts’an

Li Lin-ts’an is one of the pioneers in Dongba culture research, known as "Mr. Mo-so",going across half a century of Dongba culture research course, and publishing several important works from the1930s to the1980s. Li’s Dongba cultural research methods and results have been praised for academia. This paper, according to "A Dictionary of Mo-so Hieroglyphics" etc. four important works, try to explore Li’s Dongba cultural research.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the Dongba cultural studies course of Li Lin-ts’an and the present situation, significance, ideas and methods of this study.The second chapter researches on "A Dictionary of Mo-so Hieroglyphics". We use the individual script and script group division criteria for the classification of the dictionary’s Dongba scripts and script groups.The second chapter researches on "A Dictionary of Mo-so Phonetic Scripts". We mainly discuss the sources of Geba scripts, the variant of Geba scripts processing, and the number of Geba scripts.The forth chapter researches on "Translations and Annotations of Mo-so classics". The main goal is to analysis the translations and annotations mode of Dongba classics in this book.The fifth chapter researches on "Mo-so Research Papers". We mainly summarize the contents of the book, and make a commentary.The sixth chapter is the conclusion, mainly discusses the results, methods and inadequacy of Li’s Dongba culture research.
