Yuefu Poetry Of The Tang Dynasty With The Influence Of Western Regions Music

In Tang Dynasty, The western regions music flooded into Central China and produced the profound and long-term influences on Tang poetry. This paper studies Yuefu poetry of the Tang Dynasty with the influence of Western regions music.There were a variety of Melodies formed in Yuefu poetry of Tang, which could be mostly found in Guo Mao-qian’ sYue-Fu Poem Anthology; the rest of which were respectively documented in other documentation of the literature; and many Lyrics of which could be also explored in the work of Guo’s; nevertheless, the record of the two in the work are incomplete and filled with some mistakes. Based upon the research method of philology, the frist chapter will analyses Yuefu melodies from Western regions music and investigates its origin dialectically, succeeded by further additions and refinements to Lyrics and its Melody.During the spreading process in the Tang Dynasty, The music of western region had kept less characteristics of its own than before when it first came in. The most part of them had been digested and absorbed by chinese culture and integrated into the society of Tang, appearing with a new gesture. As a result of introduction of large Yuefu melodies with the background of Western regions music, a lot of original tunes had been changed, which had made new demand on creation of Lyrics accordingly, while, with the introduction and reform of Western regions music, the style of Lyrics had been created in different ways.In the spreading process of Melodies of Western regions music in Tang Dynasty, the content of Lyrics keeps unanimous with the Melodies itself and its origin on one hand, however, which just accounts for a small proportion, on the other hand, the content of Lyrics will be expanded or changed to meet the demand of situation. Meanwhile the western regions music are also influence in the aesthetic state and artistic style in the art of poetry.In summation, it is the boom of Western regions music in the Tang Dynasty that is just profound cultural root where Yuefu poetry is glorious. Apparently, it is a extremely important visual angle to study Yuefu of Tang from The western regions music as well as a new exploration of it.
