The Western Region,an area west of Yumenguan,is located in the middle of the Silk Road,and has been the center of cultural exchange between East and West since the Han Dynasty.The Western Region's historical sites left in ruins are not only the inherent material existence showing regional cultural history,but also has an essential impact on literati's activity and literary creation.This thesis is meant to sort out the poetry of these historical sites in the Tang Dynasty,by the portraits inside,we could uncover some related historical events.We analyze the Han culture and the unique characteristics reflected in the poetry,then explore how these historical sites in the western regions influence the social atmosphere that Tang people worship the Han Dynasty and the variation of poetry's disposition in the Tang Dynasty.Hopefully,we could comprehensively understand the uniqueness of the Western Regions Silk Road poetry in the Tang Dynasty.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter sorts out the historical sites of the South,Middle,and North of the Silk Road in the Western Regions showed in the Tang poetry.We analyze the historical provenance,and the present situation in the geographical works of tang people of these historical sites.And briefly explain the literati's activity and literary creation related then.The second chapter analyzes the image of the ancient cities,Luntai in Tang poetry and Luntai in Tang poetry.Through a detailed reading of the Tang poetry referring to Luntai,we can understand the fundamental disposition of the Luntai image,and it could be the northwest frontier fortress,beitingdu guard house,Han luntai and Tang luntai in the poerty.There are also different emotional expressions between the early and late Tang Dynasty,as the shrinking of the territory,"Luntai" appears to be an image that mingling joys and sorrows.The third chapter analyzes the image of the ancient city Loulan in Tang poetry.Through a detailed reading of the Tang poetry referring to Loulan,it seems that Loulan could indicate the location of the city,the border area of the western region,or the enemy neighboring country in different situations.The usage of "cutting Loulan" is extraordinary,it reflects the thought of pursuing fame and luxury in the Tang Dynasty,meanwhile adds some vigorous attitudes towards the poetry.This usage also had an impact on the poetry creation in the Song Dynasty.The fourth chapter analyzes the image of the ancient city Loulan in Tang poetry.Through detailed reading of the Tang poetry referring to Jiaohe,we can appreciate the rich meaning of Jiaohe in Tang poetry.It could refer to the Turkic region,the border area of the western region,the Jiaohe City of the western region,the river of the western region,and the war of vassal towns.The change in the meaning of Jiaohe is the reflection of the history of the Tang Dynasty's frontiers.It also mirrors the changes in the relationship between the Tang Dynasty and the Western Regions.The high popularity and frequent appearance of Jiaohe may provide us that it has a strong practical significance in the Tang Poetry.The fifth chapter analyzes the complex of the Han Dynasty in these poetry.Borrowing the related allusion,narrative background,the official titles,and royal palaces names of the Han Dynasty,these poetry constitute a method we called using the Han to represent Tang.This representative method might come from the evolution of the historical sites from the Han to Tang,and the social atmosphere that Tang people worship the Han Dynasty,and enthuse to visit the ancient ruins.Hopefully,we could understand how these historical sites in the western regions influence the poetry creation.The Western Regions Silk Road poetry in the Tang Dynasty reflects the times extensively and profoundly,at the same time reflects the literary prosperity of the Tang Dynasty,and the variation of poetry's disposition over Tang Dynasty is closely related to the the Western Region's historical sites.
