The paper takes the Interpretive Theory of the Paris School as its theoreticalframework. Combined with the analysis of the2012Bo’ao Round Table for Young Leaders,it discusses the application of the Interpretive Theory in C-E conference interpretation. Aconference with people from different countries may have various views and what eachspeaker says is inevitably imbued with cultural features. Failure to catch the meaning ofthe source language and the restriction of the original language structure will affect thequality of interpretation. The translation methods adopted in this paper are based on thespecific examples in the case and it turns out that the Interpretive Theory, especially the“Comprehension” and “Deverbalization” strategies are of significance in conferenceinterpretation. The paper also proposes that the Interpretive Theory is not in a supremeposition though it is of guiding significance in C-E conference interpretation, while ahigh-quality interpretation also depends on the restructuring of information and propertime distribution.
