Research On Pictographs Teaching In Chinese Characters Teaching To Foreigners

Chinese character teaching has always been the difficult point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and Chinese character learning is the basis of learning Chinese and Chinese culture for foreigners, therefore, we should pay attention to the foreign Chinese character teaching. Chinese characters belong to the ideographic writing system, and pictographic characters are the foundation of Chinese character, so we should not ignore the teaching of them in foreign Chinese character teaching. But unfortunately pictographs teaching has not gotten as much attention as it deserves. According to the development history of Chinese characters, we realize that pictographs are the source of the configuration of Chinese characters, as well as the structure basis of self-explanatory characters, associative compounds and phonograms, to learn them well means to set a base for learning Chinese characters, so we should give them enough attention in teaching. However, it became a considerable thing for foreign students to improve the efficiency of learning Chinese characters by pictograph studying.According to the above situation, this article is aimed at analyzing the existing problems in pictograph teaching through the related survey of present situation of teachers’s teaching and students’learning, teaching practice and the present situation of the teaching environment and the foreign students’cognitive level of pictographs, and then put forward teaching strategy and improve the strategy of pictographs according to the characteristics of the pictographs and types, enable foreign students to gain a better understanding of pictograph, to master the relationship between the form and meaning of Chinese characters, to understand the configuration of Chinese characters, as well as Chinese characters’culture.
