| This report is produced on the basis of the author’s practical translation experience of Indonesian Iron Ore Fine Sale&Purchase Contract, with an aim to get further acquainted with the language features of English business contracts and to inquire into their translation methods, which are significant for improving the quality of business contract translations and averting unnecessary contract disputes.The report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction that presents the background, goal and significance of this report, and a brief review of the preparations for the practical translation. The second chapter introduces the general language features of English business contracts, with regard to lexicon, syntax and semantics respectively. The third chapter, with reference to the author’s practical translation of Indonesian Iron Ore Fine Sale&Purchase Contract, analyzes the specific problems confronted in the process of translation, and inquires into the approaches to solve those problems from the perspectives of lexicon, syntax and semantics. And the last chapter summarizes the enlightenment, lessons and problems to be solved. |
