Zhatal Wan: The Research On Aesthetic Value Of The Folk Blue And White Porcelain In Jingdezhen

Zhatai Wan（渣胎碗）, with a long history and very high artistic value, is one ofthe popular and coarse white and blue porcelains that produced by folk kiln（民窑）inJingdezhen（景德镇）. You may be paid attention to the artificial and natural characterof them when compared with the homogeneous and standardized lifelessindustrialized products, but not all of the scholars are concerned with this.In this paper, I want to study the aesthetic value of the Folk Blue and WhitePorcelain（民间�'花） in Jingdezhen with a good example of Zhatai Wan. Throughmainly using the document literatures and physical evidences, combining with themethod of fine arts, history and aesthetics, the author argues the relationship betweenfolk and official Blue and White Porcelain, and ending up with the modernsignificance of the Folk Blue and White Porcelain.Benefited from the advantageous natural environment and social culturalenvironment, Zhatai Wan is an perfect folk art with good commercial and artisticquality, which is the most obvious character. It comes from the folk society and has aclosely relationship with the development of folk and official kiln. Just For survival,the folk painters produce this works in a stable mode with their skillful hands. Theyare the great creators.Zhatai Wan is an daily use commodity, but the folk painters take full advantage ofthe materials, and change the coarse slag charge into the lively and interestingworks of art. From the decorative perspective, it s very simple, just as same as itscomposition and writing. In the other words, compared with the official Blue andWhite Porcelain,Zhatai Wan explore the theme of harmony, coarse but accurate. it san different kind of artistic conception.Just because it conforms to the modern ethos and the aesthetic pursuit of modernpeople, So more and more artists are engaged in the inheritance and development ofthe traditional folk blue and white art, and making a new interpretation andinterpretation for the development of traditional evolution.
