Based on the interpretive theory ofDanica Seleskovitch and the effort model of Daniel Gile, the paper contains qualitycomparisons of the TV simultaneous interpretation quality from CCTV andPHOENIX TV upon Obama Barack’s live speech on the death of Osama bin Laden,explorations of the related difficulties and suggestions of the related strategies fromand for the interpreters. Then the improvement mechanism is proposed by the authorto arouse the attention from audiences, which further guarantees a faster and moreaccurate spread of the news from foreign countries.The paper is divided into four chapters and aims to solve the following problems:1) After the comparative analysis of the simultaneous interpreting of CCTV andPHOENIX TV upon the same topic--Barack Obama’s live speech on the death ofOsama bin Laden, the version of which TV station is a better one?2) What are the main reasons for the disparity in the interpreting quality?3) For the lower-performance party, what can the TV station even the local placedo to further improve the TV simultaneous interpreting quality? Are therecorresponding strategies and improvement mechanisms? The author focuses on the simultaneous interpreting quality of CCTV andPHOENIX TV on the basis of the interpretive theory and the effort model. In addition,certain innovation is made by the author because of the current lack of sufficientresearch results and journals in the related field.
