With the development of financial and economic cooperation between China and Islamic countries, deep research on Islamic finance and economy which made by relevant academic is really in need. For this reason, Arab Research Center of Ningxia University in the Region and Nationality Research Base of Ministry of Education organized a group to translate the collections which study Islamic finance and economy. To provide reference materials for relevant academia and politics, to give a better service for international financial cooperation and economic exchanges between China and Islamic countries of Arab, to meet the strategic needs of opening economy of Ningxia and the China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum, the group planned to translate10authoritative works of the Muslim world which study the Islamic finance and economy.This is a translation practice report for Chapter6of An Introduction to Islamic Finance:Theory and Practice which was coauthored by Zamir Iqbal (India) and Abbas Mirakhor (Iran). Chapter6"The Islamic financial system" makes an overall and systematic introduction to the components, stability and formalization of Islamic financial system and the challenges of its implementation. It has relative integrity and is easy to be read and understood by readers of all levels. The completion of this translation practice is helpful to give the book a Chinese version for no one has translated it into Chinese till now. In this report, the author describes the background and significance of this translation practice, and analyzes its language features. With the direction of the Theory of German Functionalism, the author summarizes the proper translation methods and skills for An Introduction to Islamic Finance:Theory and Practice combining with examples which give a possible perspective on translating financial texts, so as to promote translation progress of similar text.
