In the thesis, the research objects of adverb “Dao and Dao shi” are micro-analyzedand macro explored. It combines synchronic variation with diachronic evolution ofadverb “Dao and Dao shi” to survey comprehensively and respectively. The microscopicanalysis describes and summarizes its meaning, function, usage of the adverbs andreveals its function and characteristics of the various aspects. Macro exploration studythe basic problems with the overall such as the nature, scope, classification of adverbsand so on. From synchronic point of view, this paper analyzes its grammatical meaning,syntactic distribution, pragmatic function. From the diachronic perspective, itinvestigates the virtual course and virtual mechanism. The thesis explore the cause of theevolution from the grammatical and cognitive perspective.It analyzes the synchronicvariation and diachronic evolution of adverb "Dao" modified "shi" comprehensively,does a comprehensive analysis of the same in forms but different internal structure of"Dao shi". Finally, make a comparative study of the adverb "Dao" and "Dao shi" andobtain a glimpse of the truth. The Chinese adverb is a part of speech which is personalitymore than commonality. It is not identical with the content words and function words,but has some of their individual characteristics: the lexical meaning is blurring and thegrammatical meaning is obvious. We should do further explore to it comprehensively tobe conducive to a thorough grasp of the knowledge of Chinese grammar. It is veryfrequently used in people actual. It is a more complex semantic adverb. The purpose andsignificance is to survey the synchronic variation and lasted evolution of adverb "Dao"Comprehensively. Through comparative analysis of vertical and horizontal, make lastedexplanation for the complex Synchronic phenomena. The synchronic and diachronicevolution of adverb "Dao" and "Dao shi" is the results of grammaticalization. In theprocess of language expression, subjectivity strengthened or subjective modal featuresenhanced and the weakening of the objective function can further deepen theunderstanding of adverbs and promote the study of modern Chinese adverbs. We basedon the ancient Chinese Modern Chinese to study adverbs. From the Chinese fact wegeneralize the meaning of the "Dao". Doing these may have suspicion of duplication，butI think this is a necessary stage of depth understanding of the "Dao".
