Study On The Phonology Of Xingxian Dialect

Xingxian lies in the middle of the Yellow River, it is located in the northwest of Shanxi province and it belongs to the west of North Lvliang mountains. It is on the east of Kelan and Lanxian,south of Linxian,north of Baode,and Shenmu which belongs to Shanxi province by the Yellow river is to the west of Xingxian.Xingxian belongs to Lvliang city,there are7town and10township in Xingxian and it is the largest county in Shanxi Province. Xingxian dialect is a part of Lvliang-piece Fenzhou small piece from Shanxi dialect. It is divided into three parts:Xianchuanhua(including Nanchuanhua and Xichuanhua),Caijiahuihua and Donghuihua.Xianchuanhua is the representative of the local dialect.As a important part of Lvliang-piece from Shanxi dialect,researching on Xingxian phonology has important significance on Shanxi dialect. The focus of this article is to analysis and describe the phonology of Xingxian dialect as fully as possible.This article is consisted of three parts,the first part is Xingxian dialect overview, including the overview of Xingxian geography,the population and Xingxian dialect. And research significance of the topic, research methods and the introduction to pronunciation partners. The second part is the phonology of Xianchuanhua, including the Initial of a syllable, the finality of a syllable and the tones,the correspondence about Xianchuanhua and Putonghua, the relational forms of the Initial of a syllable, the finality of a syllable and the tones, Tone Sandhi,the difference between literary and colloquial readings, the words combination of the same pronunciation. The third part is the internal differences, including differences on Xianchuanhua, Caijiahuihua and Donghuihua, the phonology of Donghuihua and Caijiahuihua.Using fieldwork method, we described xingxian dialect by the preliminary analysis according to the phonetic rules,this article made more comprehensive description about Xingxian dialects from the angle of the same time and show its general characteristics.Besides,we also compared Xingxian dialect phonology system with the ancient phonology, in order to show the changing general rule of Xingxian dialect.
