Phonology Study On "Xiangyin Zihui"

"xiangyin zihui" is a book about the Wuyuan country dialect rhyming dictionary which we can search in Jiangxi province, it records the phonetic features of Hui dialect in Wuyuan in the middle of19th century, about150years ago, and this book plays an important part in learning the history of the Wuyuan dialect phonetic features, and understanding the evolution process of Wuyuan dialect by contacting with the modern dialect.Research of Xiangyin zihui in rhyme can make us understand the status of Wuyuan dialect well and derive the phonetic evolution law and then provide precious materials for building dialect history.Wuyuan county is located in the border of hui dialect and gan dialect,so Xiangyin zihui is a rare valuable historical material for research of the evolution of dialect contact between hui dialect and gan dialect.The paper are trying to describe the phonological features of Wuyuan dialect reflected by the book in terms of initials, finals, and tones using phonological opposition principle,and sum up the Wuyuan dialect phonetic system in the middle of the19th century,so that we can have further understanding of the evolution of Wuyuan dialect. This paper,from the angle of phonology,depicts pronunciation system and its feature of Wuyuan dialect so researchers can have more detailed unterstanding of Wuyuan dialect.This Xiangyin zihui reflects the Wuyuan dialect has22initials,29finals and6tones.
