Comparative Study Of Phonology On "Xiabei Xiangyinzihui" And "Zhengxiabei Xiangyinzihui" Dialect Rhyme Dictionaries Of Wuyuan

The various dialects of Chinese have their own dialect rhyme dictionariesrecorded the phonology.“Xiabei Xiangyinzihui” and “Zhengxiabei Xiangyinzihui”are two dialect rhyme dictionaries recorded the phonology of Wuyuan. They aredivided into four volumes according to level tone, rising tone, departing tone,entering tone.Thus it can summarize “Xiabei Xiangyinzihui” records about twelvethousand nine hundred and fifty-one words.And it is divided into seventeen rhyneclasses, ninety-nine rhymes, a total of one thousand two hundred and twenty-onelittle rhymes.“Zhengxiabei Xiangyinzihui” records about eleven thousand twohundred and four words.And it is divided into eighteen rhyne classes, one hundredand five rhynes,a total of one thousand one hundred and twenty-eight littlerhymes.Thus we can conclude the phonology systems of these two dialect rhymedictionaryies.The paper describes and analyzes the styles and contents of “XiabeiXiangyinzihui” and “Zhengxiabei Xiangyinzihui” dialect rhyme dictionaries ofWuyuan firstly. Then,the paper conludes the phonology characteristics of these twodialect rhyme dictionaries compared with the Middle Sound System. Finally thepaper compares the similarities and differences of phonology. According to thecomparisions of phonology characteristics, we can find that even though phoneticfeatures of Wuyuan dialects are complex, it still exists the high internal consistencyon initials, finals and tones.These two dialect rhyme dictionaries have the samecharacteristics on initials and tones.The differences are mainly manifested in finals.
