As we all know,"identifying the phenomenon of Jiajie"is an important job for reading ancient literatures. The phenomenon of Jiajie is one of the prominent supplementing materials for the ancient rhyme categories. However, there is no common agreement concerning about the conditions of how to form Jiajie so far. The same or similar pronunciation is an necessary condition for establishing the phenomenon of Jiajie. I have no objection about this concept. For"the similar pronunciation Jiajie", that is"ancient different characters Jiajie mutually explanatory theory"held by Duan Yucai in Qing dynasty, most researchers come to their own conclusions according to their individual study. As the matter of how nearly of the ancient phonology can two words may belong to the situation of Jiajie, there is no clear conclusion. The book of Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng has the most Jiajie characters in Qing dynasty. The author Zhu Junsheng is not only an expert in paleography, but also an expert in studying ancient phonology. So it is a good method to study Jiajie by way of studying this book. It also has the significant meaning in studying the rhyme of Jiajie characters in this book.As far as I know, there are lots of books on the phenomenon of Jiajie and Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng study. But up to now, I have not seen any articles which are studying all the Jiajie characters in the book of Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng from a prospect of phonology. So it can be said that this special research on the book is still in the beginning and has special meaning. This thesis is based on former researchers'study and has made a selecting rule according to the author's understanding of Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng. It also includes all the Jiajie characters in the book and finally makes sure that there are 9202 pairs of Jiajie examples. This paper makes out a record of Jiajie characters as the foundation of the deeper research. This paper adopts Mr. ZhengZhang Shangfang's Yibu Via- ration theory, references to Mr. Wang li'Yin-yang exchange theory, uses traditional linguistic studying method and modern statistic method to emphasize on the studying of phonology about the 9202 pairs of Jiajie examples in Zhu's Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng and aims at finding the phonologic conditions of Jiajie phenomenon. (Limited by myself study, this paper only studies the vowel-ending rhyme and the nasal-ending rhyme)There are six chapters in this thesis. The first chapter is introduction which supplies the significance of the thesis, the object of study and conclusion of former researchers'study. It also gives a brief introduction of Zhu Junsheng and his book, Shuowen Tongxun Dingsheng, and the research method of this paper. Chapter two studies separately the vowel-ending rhyme and the nasal-ending rhyme and divides it into 18 parts to show that Mr. Zheng zhang'Yibu Variations theory and Mr. Wang li'Yin-yang exchange theory are acceptable in explaining the Jaijie phenomenon. Chapter three is mainly about the vowel-ending rhyme and the nasal-ending rhyme. The study shows that compared with Yingyang, Yangru, the Yingru relationship is closest among the three parts Ying, Yang and Ru; the same or similar Yunwei is an indispensable phonological condition of Jiajie; the phenomenon of Jiajie is not causal for the two parts of Jiajie usually have clear Yinli relationship. Chapter four is the study of tone. The same tone of Jiajie phenomenon is common and takes a proportion of 72.6% in the 9202 groups of Jiajie examples. Chapter five is other discussions about the main topic. Chapter six is the list of Jiajie characters (materials).
