Wall sculptures has thousands of years history in our country, and condenses the wisdom andessence of sculpture and painting in ancient China. The tradition Wall sculptures what can beappreciated by now almost are mostly created in Ming and Qing dynasties. The Shuilu’an Wallsculptures group in Lantian, Shaanxi Province is one of the wall carve artworks groups saved close toperfection in the Ming dynasties. The distribution area in as well as its topics content in hall ofShuilu’an wall carve artworks are widely. This article is only for the Beishan wall carve artworksgroup’s theme of ‘the born’ of Buddhist story, including serial stories carve of Buddhism, triple eaveshall and several characters statues inside and outside of the hall. Through using image study andcomparing research methods we make some analysis from the point of view of the composition pattern.From local to the whole we have explored the aesthetic characteristics of their composition pattern andimplication of the traditional Chinese painting composition factor, and we hope enrich and develop theShuilu’an wall carve artworks research results from this article. and promote the research andprotection to the Shuilu’an and then make it contemporary art to provide more effective support.
