This article will analyze the author’s view on the formation of the children’secological ethics through the vivid character of Julie in Julie trilogy.The thesis is composed of five chapters. The first chapter gives an introductionon Jean Craighead George’s life and her three novels and briefly introduces theemergence and the current situation of the ecological criticism theories. Then laysstress on the eco-ethics among children’s literature. The second chapter analyzesJulie’s eco-thoughts in the first book of Julie trilogy, Julie of the Wolves. Underinfluence of other people’s influence and enlightenment, Julie realizes nature. Thethird chapter analyzes the eco-thoughts in the second book of Julie trilogy, Julie. Juliesets up the ecological consciousness of her own and discovered strong bond betweenhuman and the nature. It leads children back to nature by the way of literature. Thefourth chapter analyzes the last book of Julie trilogy, Julie’s Wolf Pack. When the packis hunted, Julie helps the wolf pack and leads them get out of their hardship. FromJulie’s experience, Jean tells children that they must help the nature and care foranimals under the base of loving the great nature, Jean also indicates that childrenyearn for simplicity and free life.The last chapter is a summary. From Julie’s early innocent stages ofeco-thoughts to the later developing stages, Julie’s own eco-consciousness has finallyformed. In the three books, the writer evokes people’s eco-conscience and moreimportantly expresses her opinion that children should form their own eco-ethics:living in harmony with nature.
