| Recent years, with ever-lasting development of market economy and deepening of reformand opening up, translation of business contract has been a pillar of international trade. Howto faithfully translate the terms and conditions of original contract is very important, and it isalso an essential guarantee to avoid violation of each party’s lawful rights. This translationprogram takes Bottling and License Agreement as an original text, which is a kind of Licenseagreement, written by English. It is made up of29terms with10,172characters. Theagreement involves many aspects of manufacture and license, mainly including bottling,license of base, trademark and product sold and marketed in region under the agreement. It isa comprehensive agreement, which refers to such three different kinds of agreement asbottling license agreement, technology transfer agreement and distribute agreement.The translator has studied lots of materials about basic law, regulation, and trade lawsbefore translating this agreement. The report firstly states the features of trade agreement, andthen explains three basic translation principles: accuracy, profession and following cases.These three principles used as the basic guidance. In next part, the report focuses on analyzingtwo difficult problems about words and sentences. The analysis of words and sentencesmainly focuses on old English words, synonym and long sentences with complicated sentencestructures. At last, this essay also summarizes the achievements from this translation project. |
