In Ming dynasty, the imperial court carried out the policy that princes were sent to thefrontier to defend the country for consolidating the central regime. Zhu yuanzhang, the Mingdynasty emperor sent his24sons to different area in the country as the king. Gansu is a importantstronghold of the Ming dynasty. Zhu Yuanzhang sent Zhu Ying, his the fourteenth son, whom helove very much to GanSu as a king. From the28thyears in Hong Wu (1395), when ZhuYing,thefirst generation of the kings, went to take up the official post in GanZhou to the winter in the16thyears in Chong Zhen (1644), when the last king,Zhu Shihong was killed by He Jin in lanzhou,There was250years. Its influence gets gong with the beginning and end of the Ming dynasty.Those kings were buried in GanSu after they died. There are eleven tombs distributed in Pingdingpeak in Lai Zibao in Yu Zhong. Two of them distributed in Qi Lihe district in LanZhou city, Thereare11tombs.The author wants to reflect the overall and individual conditions of tombs of the kings inMing dynasty in GanSu truthfully through the methods such as visiting survey, field survey, dataaccess. including the location of the tomb, the conditions of the mound of graves, the structure ofcoffin chambeand that has been opened and unearthed relics etc. Analyzes the distributioncharacteristics of the kings’ tombs from the aspects of geography and ritual factors, reveals itscharacter different from others; Discloses fully pitfalls existing around the tombs; Points out thenecessity of to protect against the kings’ tombs. Aiming at these factors unfavorable to theprotection, from the Angle of archaeology, Puts forward constructive protection countermeasuresand reasonable development of opinions. Calling for more social attention to protect the tombs ofkings in Ming dynasty in Gan Su to make it become bright spot in Hua Xia civilization inheritanceand innovation engineering project in Gan Su province.The scale of the tombs is so grand, so concentrated and the buried time span is so long thatwe can’t see anything else in the northwest region. It is well-known that is called "little Mingtombs" owing to Extremely profound cultural connotation.Its content involves the Mingdynasty’s military, political, economic, culture, system of a royal funeral and other fields. It isvery significant for us to study rulers of management of northwest frontier in the Ming dynasty,the captaincy system, religious belief and the royal burial system.
