This thesis consists of an excerpt from the The Belief in Immortality and theWorship of the Dead（Lecture1）and the corresponding report on translation，whichtells about religious origin and research methods adopted by the author. The authorexpounded on the definition of theology and religious origin dogmatically,philosophically, and historically and gave a detailed discussion on one of the researchmethods, which is the historical method.
