Based on the interview method, questionnaire method and case analysismethod in class, we have taken Chinese Department students of Fatih University inTurkey as the object of study and made an analytical investigation of usage in theclass of teaching Chinese as a foreign language according to the English as aninterlanguage. Via the interview method, the students and teachers think that as aninterlanguage, English plays an important role in the class for the student whose firstlanguage is Turkish and the teacher whose second foreign language is English.According to the result of questionnaire and case analysis in class, whether the use ofclassroom instruction or the explanation of the classroom content, there is adependency of English and the second foreign language upon the learner (The learneris mainly in the primary stage.)in varying degrees, and the demand of interlanguage isreducing with the upgrading of Chinese level. Through the analysis of the studentsthemselves, teaching materials and teachers, we can make a conclusion that thestudents’ demand of interlanguage is limited by their own Chinese level, and so it isthe same with the English notes in the teaching material. Teachers should distinguishthe characteristics of the students in different stages, make a sufficient preparation foreach teaching procedure, put forward the corresponding strategies combining theteaching practice, and improve the Chinese teaching efficiency of the Turkishstudents.
