A Study Of Lu Xun’s Translation Career And Its Significance For China’s Translation Cause

As a prominent Chinese writer, philosopher and translator, Lu Xun devoted his wholelife into saving the country and people. A leader in Chinese translation as he was, Lu Xunmade great contributions to literary translation, art theory translation, translation criticism andmany other aspects of translation. This thesis will be divided into four parts:In the first part, this paper concludes Lu Xun’s works on literature translation and drawsa panorama of Lu Xun’s literature translation. This paper aims to summarize the references ofLu Xun’s literature translation on Chinese literature translation through the analysis ofevolvement of literature translation works.In the second part, this paper concludes the guidance of Lu Xun’s art theory on Chineseart construction.In the third part, through a summary of translation criticism theories posed by Lu Xun,this paper makes a further conclusion of its significance of Chinese modern translationcriticism.In the fourth part, this thesis concluded Lu Xun’s attitude and his outlook on Chinesetranslation, combining with the present development of modern Chinese translation, puts thesignificance of his spirits on modern Chinese translators.
