In the1930s, under the influence of multiple factors at home and abroad, Chineseintellectuals were highly concerned about the Soviet Union as a nascent socialistcountry for the purpose of saving the nation and the people. Their outlooks on theSoviet Union changed over time and vary from person to person and theirunderstandings and values were different which had profound impact on theirpersonal ideas and the social thought in the1930s.In the early1930s, due to the continuously deterioration of the world economyand the success of the “Five-Year Plan” of the Soviet Union, the intelligentsia beganto reflect on their understanding of the Soviet Union and began to pay full attention tothe Soviet Union’s political, economic and cultural life. after the “September18”Incident, thousands of intellectuals called on the government to shelve the dispute andrecover diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union as soon as possible. With thefurther escalation of the national crisis, intellectuals further deepened their thought of“uniting Soviet to restraint Japan”, showing a kind of “pro-Soviet” mentality. At thesame time, based on their personal experiences and rational thinking, someintellectuals who had traveled to the Soviet Union published a series of articles aboutthe Soviet Union with the purpose of building China into a powerful modern countryby learning the experiences of the Soviet Union in their construction. This thesis is divided into five parts.
