Research objectives: First, analysis the basic condition of high-grade pupils’ Parentingstyle、self-esteem and social anxiety. Second, further explore the pairiwise relationshipbetween high-grade pupils’ Parenting style、self-esteem and social anxiety, and establish thestructural epuation model between these three variables. Finally, combining this study,propose some of the recommendations and countermeasures to relieve social anxiety ofhigh-grade pupils, in order to provide theotetical and pratical basis to develop mental healthof pupils. A total of403high-grade pupils have been chosens as the subjiects of this studycomplete a questionnaire which consisted of Egma Minnen av Bardndosnaupppforstran(EMBU), the self-Esteem Scale (SES) and Social Anxiety Scale for Children (SASC). Theresults show that:(1) The parenting atmosphere provided by the high grade pupils’ parents is basicallywarm and understanding. Overall, parenting style is more inclined to a positive direction.Some factors of parenting style had significant differences on demographic variables;Self-esteem at a higher level on average, and it had significant differences on grade, thefamily situation. High grade pupils’ social anxiety at a lower middle level on average. Butsome of them in a high level of social anxiety. The fear of negative evaluation factor had asignificant difference on grade. While the social avoidance and distress factor had asignificant difference on mother’s degree of education.(2) Except parents’ emotional warmth/understanding (F1, M1) and preference(F4,M5),the scores of negative dimensions of parenting styles of high grade pupils in high socialanxiety group were significantly higher than that in low social anxiety group. Negativedimensions of parenting styles were significantly and positively correlated with social anxiety.Father or mother negative parenting styles had significant positive predication on socialanxiety at some degree.(3) There were significant differences between low self-esteem group high grade pupilsand low self-esteem group ones on the factors of parenting style. The scores of parents’emotional warmth/understanding (F1, M1) of high grade pupils, High self-esteem groupsignificant higher than low self-esteem group. While the scores of parents’punishment/sternness (F2, M4), parents’ rejection/denial (F5, M3) and father’sover-intervention,High self-esteem group significant lower than low self-esteem group.(F1,M1) were significantly and positively correlated with self-esteem. Negative dimensions weresignificantly and positively correlated with social anxiety,except F6and M2. Parenting styles were significant predictable to self-esteem at some degree.(4) The high-grade pupils’ self-esteem scores of High social anxiety group of wassignificantly lower than the low social anxiety group. There is a significant negativecorrelation between Self-esteem and social anxiety. Self-esteem was significant predictable tosocial anxiety at some degree.(5) Father’ negative parenting styles not only could directly affect the level of socialanxiety high grade pupils, but also could indirectly affect the social anxiety thought themediator of s self-esteem. Mother’s negative parenting styles could directly influence thelevel of social anxiety and self-esteem of the high grade pupils, but the self-esteem mediatingeffect is not significant. Integrating Parenting Style, parents’ over-intervention/over-protectioncould indirectly affect the social anxiety, and parents’ punishment/sternness could indirectlyaffect the social anxiety thought the totally mediator of self-esteem.
